The Denver nuggets beat the Miami Heat 117-104 Friday to move to 8-4 on the year. The 8-4 record makes them 2nd in their division, but they are 2 games back of the Oklahoma City Thunder who are in first. Denver won after controlling most of the game and then jumping out in front in the 4th quarter after a Heat injury. Miami’s loss also brings them to a 8-4 record and they too are in 2nd place in their division. The Heat have been sliding in their past few games, but are just .5 games back in their division.
Denver was led by the young Ty Lawson who scored 24 in the game. Hilario added 17 points and got a double-double by also securing 12 rebounds. Denver was more solid on the defensive side of the ball which is where the Heat have struggled. The Heat have allowed 100+ points a game in the past 7 games. The addition of any defense to the heat would allow them to really be a force to watch out for. In the meantime it is Denver who is surprising many this season, but have a tough Thunder team to catch up to.
The Miami Heat were led by Lebron who scored 35 points and had 5 rebounds and 6 assist. Bosh also added 17 points and had 8 rebounds. The Heat really began to struggle after Wade injured his ankle in the 4th quarter. Wade scored 12 points and added 7 rebounds and 6 assist before leaving the game. The loss effected the team on both sides of the ball and Denver widened their lead before ultimately winning.
