The Miami Heat lost 105 to 97 Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Heat did so by losing a huge lead away from home. Lebron led all scorers on the night, but despite his efforts, fell short to the Buck’s team that is desperately trying to get to .500 on the season. Milwaukee continued to show that it is not easy for visiting teams to pick up wins, as they improved their home record to 7-2 on the year.
The Heat were led by James who scored 40 in the contest and was unstoppable from the field. Chris Bosh added 9 rebounds, to lead the team, while Wade added 6 assists. After scoring 40 in the first quarter, they began to fizzle and blew the game late scoring just 37 in the second half of the game. This was after they put up 60 points in the first half of the contest. The Heat now stand at 16-6 on the season and are tied with Atlanta for first in the division.
Brandon Jennings led the way for the Bucks scoring 31 points and collecting 8 assists in the game. Ilyasova also added 14 big rebounds to help the Bucks cause. The Bucks scored 58 points, in the second half, compared to just 37 points from the Heat. This provided the necessary means to gain a win on the night and showed good heart by the Bucks who found themselves down big early. The Bucks still find themselves 6.5 games back of a tough Bulls squad.
The Heat must find ways to hang on and win these winnable contests, against average opponents, and away from Miami if they hope to win it all this season.
