The Miami Heat will look to close up their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ASC. The game will certainly feature what it has all along, which is two teams that will be meeting each other often in this setting. Sure, with Miami up three games to one, it appears that the Heat have had it easy. However, this series could have easily gone either way and should have been epic. Tonight we will find out if OKC plans on making it just that as they should come out hungry and ready to bring the series back to Oklahoma.
My guess is that they will do just that. OKC has been in, and even up, for most of the series in individual games at times. They have simply not closed at games like they should have. Miami is one of the hardest places to play, but Oklahoma is not an easy place to play either. Knowing that, OKC will come out hard and despite how bad Lebron wants a ring, it will have to wait until game seven when the series heads back to Miami.
Certainly this is just one man’s view, but I just feel that this series was created for more than five games. The Thunder and Heat are very evenly matched and the NBA can stand to gain on seeing this matchup gain popularity and become a rivalry. I mean, Durant, Westbrook, and Harden against James, Wade, and Bosh sounds epic. Throw in x-factors like Chalmers and Battier versus Fisher and Ibaka and it brings back memories of '90s playoff basketball. My hope, and feeling, is that we will all get just that as history tends to repeat itself.
